Read it in a day! Great suspense, mystery, a few twists and turns (I could have used a few more) and the intensity and pacing were spot on! A great spring break read!

Wow。 I can’t give this book enough positive comments! Worth all five stars。 The way it’s written is really fun。 You learn early on sort of what happens but it’s just enough to keep you reading。 By the time the book is finished you’re left feeling breathless and reeling。 What an enjoyable read。 The pace was great and I could not stop listening to it!

A page turner。 I read it quickly。 A little bizarre, but I have to say, I did enjoy it。

I’m conflicted about this book。 It was engaging enough to keep me reading, the pace at which the plot unraveled was perfect, the plot itself was far from unique yet it was interesting and compelling just enough。 The characters on the other hand were far from realistic, at certain instances they were completely ridiculous, but I overlooked that and kept reading。To be fair, if you find yourself stuck in one of those ‘reading slumps’ I would say this book and books like it make the perfect life sav I’m conflicted about this book。 It was engaging enough to keep me reading, the pace at which the plot unraveled was perfect, the plot itself was far from unique yet it was interesting and compelling just enough。 The characters on the other hand were far from realistic, at certain instances they were completely ridiculous, but I overlooked that and kept reading。To be fair, if you find yourself stuck in one of those ‘reading slumps’ I would say this book and books like it make the perfect life saving rope to pull you out。 It certainly did so to my friend and I。 。。。more

Blew through this over 24 hours。 Fast read and engaging。

super quick read, couldn’t put it down!

Laura

A quick and engaging thriller。

probably more like a 4。5。 This was a really good thriller。 I liked the characters and everything wasn't totally obvious。 I find a lot of thrillers to be super predictable within the first 30 pages。。。this was not。 It also really kept my interest, I couldn't put it down and had to finish it once I was halfway thru。 probably more like a 4。5。 This was a really good thriller。 I liked the characters and everything wasn't totally obvious。 I find a lot of thrillers to be super predictable within the first 30 pages。。。this was not。 It also really kept my interest, I couldn't put it down and had to finish it once I was halfway thru。 。。。more

I accidentally hit 1 star, it should be *****! This book was so good! Definitely a page turner!

Sometimes it works out well when the author tells you the ending in the first few chapters and works the timeline back。 Somehow this one didn’t hit the mark for me in that style of writing。 I think I needed more cliff hangers and less direct resolution。 But, still a good read。

This was a weird book。 I was interested and I couldn’t stop reading for the last 100 pages。 However, I could see exactly where it was going and how horrible the characters actually were because I know how horrible people can be。

Tom

Good psychological thriller, it was quite fast paced and easy to read。

I really enjoyed reading this book as I was in the mood for a thriller。 Lisa Jewell is great at presenting you with a jaw dropping premise, however the way the premise is then explained did stretch my credulity a little too far - but its fiction right?

Initially, I thought this was a 5 star book, but after thinking about it after finishing last night, I’ve changed my rating to 4 stars。 The book was good, it was a little predictable, but had some decent twists and turns。 The one thing that I didn’t like was how neatly everything wrapped up at the end。 It was a little too perfect。 Other than that, I enjoyed it。 This is the second bio I’ve read by the author and I like her writing style。 Overall, I would recommend this book for a quick read!

No one really disappears。 I just can’t imagine this - as a mom - it would be terrifying。

this book got recommended to me so many times- i was a little skeptical BUT omg。。 the fact that i finished it in a day~ the plot is pretty fast-paced and lisa keeps you engaged RIGHT FROM THE START。 the plot twist is TRULY INSANE and tbh took me awhile to process because of how shocked it was 🙈 anyways this is an awesome thriller esp if for the impatient people out there HAHA :>

Quick read。 This review from the back of the book fit what I would say: beach read with a dark side。

Liza

Fun read! Devoured it in hours!

this book was insane, love her writing

This is a bizarre twisted far fetched story。 With that being said it was entertaining and a quick read。 There were holes。in the story but i enjoyed the writing and overlooked them to read on。

I found this book to be a relatively quick read, which is surprising considering I feel like I tend to read thrillers a bit slow。 But unfortunately, I just didn’t love this。I liked the idea of the various POV’s, to see everyone’s different views of the story。 But I just didn’t think it really worked。 It changed very randomly, switching between both past & present, first & third person, and whose POV it was。 All without any indication on whose POV each chapter was from; you just have to start rea I found this book to be a relatively quick read, which is surprising considering I feel like I tend to read thrillers a bit slow。 But unfortunately, I just didn’t love this。I liked the idea of the various POV’s, to see everyone’s different views of the story。 But I just didn’t think it really worked。 It changed very randomly, switching between both past & present, first & third person, and whose POV it was。 All without any indication on whose POV each chapter was from; you just have to start reading and figure it out。Also, I don’t understand the ‘twist’ with Hanna。 Would the story not have ended the exact same way without it? She got a boyfriend and didn’t want to tell Laurel。 Does it matter who it is? Was it just to add another twist to the book? I didn’t really care for Laurel。 And I liked Floyd, so Blue’s opinion of him kinda made me roll my eyes, and is another instance where I don’t think it changed the story in any way。 This book was fine。 Just fine。 。。。more

This book had a unique plot that was very well-written。 I loved her use of multiple perspectives that allowed you to see things from each character's point of view。 The "then and now" time jumps were also perfectly placed。 This book kept me up past my bedtime to finish the last 50 pages - I couldn't stop reading! Krypande psykologisk spänning och egentligen en ganska sjuk historia。 Det är min första Lisa Jewell och jag är underhållen men inte övertygad men jag kan tänka mig att läsa något mer av henne。

Hannah Cunningham

Good mystery, dark and sad

AJ

I wasn’t crazy about this book。 I felt like it was extremely unrealistic and I really couldn’t connect with any of the characters。

Lee

I kinda felt bad for Floyd。 Idk。

This was my first Lisa Jewell book and I am a total convert。 The twists and turns of this tightly plotted thriller made me grateful for my quiet office job so I could keep listening all day until I finished it! I listened to this on audio and the narrator was fantastic。

Very nice。 very nice, but what if Ellie Mack were me? Although some people have identified me as Good at Maths I may beg to differ。The other thing that made me particularly timorous as I flipped through this ebook was thinking about this one high school buddy I had in 2006 0r '07, with whom I drew so much manga at that age, who detailed spending a lot of time in the UK, whose name was also Ellie, just like the girl who was off'ed。。。This book is a disturbing murder mystery that I thought that she Very nice。 very nice, but what if Ellie Mack were me?
